Photos from the Multi Faith Festival.

All of the children that took part did really well and we had lovely comments from the audience too. The children enjoyed the experience and were able to relate their own experiences to what they saw too.

Choir Information.

There are 2 concerts coming up for the choir in December.

1st December the children who are in Year 2 will be performing at the Downshall Centre, they have been asked to perform 3 christmas carols in a festival concert which involves people from different religions and communities performing different things, for example there will be Indian drummers. This will be a wonderful opportunity for our school to show how good our choir is and a lovely chance for the children to perform alongside other people from their local area.

5th December all of the choir will be performing in the Carol Service which will be taking place in the evening at Gearies Infants school. This is an annual event and many people take part including an adult choir 'The Valentines Singers'.

We hope that you will support these events by giving your child permission to sing in them and also by coming along to the 5th December to see how well your children are doing.

Rocking

Little Jesus, sweetly sleep, do not stir;
We will lend a coat of fur.
We will rock you, rock you, rock you;
We will rock you, rock you, rock you;
See the fur to keep you warm.
Snugly around your tiny form

Mary’s little baby, sleep, sweetly sleep,
Sleep in comfort, slumber deep;
We will rock you, rock you, rock you;
We will rock you, rock you, rock you;
We will serve you all we can,
Darling, darling little man.

Away in a Manger Words

Away in a manger, no crib for a bed.
The little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head.
The stars in the bright sky looked down where he lay.
The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay

The cattle are lowing, the baby awakes.
But little Lord Jesus no crying he makes.
I love thee Lord Jesus! Look down from the sky,
And stay by my side until morning is nigh.

I love the flowers

I love the flowers,
I love the daffodils,
I love the mountains,
I love the rolling hills,
I love the fireside When all the lights are low.
Boom de ah ra, boom de ah ra boom de ah ra boom.

I love the ocean,
I love the great big waves,
I love the starfish,
I love the ship that sails,
I love the moonlight when the sun sinks low.
Boom de ah ra, boom de ah ra, boom de ah ra boom

A B U G

A B U G. a B U G everywhere I look I see a B U G.
They live under the carpet, they live under the stair,
They live inside the cupboard, crawling everywhere.
A B U G a B U G everywhere I look I see a B U G.
They hide down in the cellar, they hide under the ground,
They hide in the dark corners, crawling all around.
A B U G a B U G everywhere I look I see a B U G.
They play out in the garden, they play under the swing
They play round in the dustbin, crawling on everything.
A BUG a BUG everywhere I look I see a BUG
Everywhere I look and see a Bug

A BUG a BUG everywhere I look I see a BUG
Everywhere I look and see a Bug

Gearies Infant School Choir.

Welcome to a new year of choir and welcome to the blog.
The blog is a plce where you and your children can practice the song words and write comments about choir, what they like singing and what they think about choir. Each time we learn a new song the words will be posted on the blog for you and your children to see. Throughout the year the blog will get bigger and hopefully you and your children will contribute to it as well. Thank you all for your continued support.

Everybody stamp your feet!

Clap, when you’re feeling happy,
Clap, it’s a catchy beat.
Clap, now you’ve got the rhythm,
Everybody stamp your feet!
Tap, when you’re feeling happy,
Tap, it’s a catchy beat.
Tap, now you’ve got the rhythm,
Everybody stamp your feet!
Click, when you’re feeling happy,
Click, it’s a catchy beat.
Click, now you’ve got the rhythm,
Everybody stamp your feet!
Slap, when you’re feeling happy,
Slap, it’s a catchy beat.
Slap, now you’ve got the rhythm,
Everybody stamp your feet!
Clap, then tap, then click, then slap,
Now everybody stamp your feet!

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang

Chitty bang bang, chitty chitty bang bang x3
Oh! You! Pretty chitty bang bang,

You’re more than spec-tac-u-lar.
To use the ver-nac-u-lar,
You’re wizard! You’re smashing!
You’re keen!

Oh! Chitty, you! Chitty,

Near! Far! In our motoy car, oh,
What a happy time we’ll spend.
Bang, bang chitty chitty bang bang,
Our fine four fendered friend.

You’re sleek as a thor-ough-bred.
Your seats are a feath-er bed,
You’ll turn ev-ry-bod-y’s head today!
You’ll glide on our motor trip,
With pride in our own-er-ship,
The envy of all we survey!

Oh! Chitty, you! Chitty,
Pretty chitty bang bang,
Chitty chitty bang bang We love you!
And chitty in chitty, pretty chitty bang bang
Chitty chitty bang bang what we’ll do!
Near chitty far chitty in our motor car,
Oh what a happy time we’ll spend.

April Showers

Drip, drip, drop, little April shower,
Beating a time as you fall all around.
Drip, drip, drop, little April shower,
What can compare with your beautiful sound.
Drip, drip, drop when the sky is cloudy
Your pretty music can brighten the day.
Drip, drip, drop, when the sun says Howdy,
You say Goodbye right away.
Drip, drip, drop little April shower,
Beating a tune everywhere that you fall.
Drip, drip, drop, little April shower,
I’m getting wet and I don’t care at all.
Drip! Drop! Drip! Drop!
I’ll never be afraid of a good little gay little April serenade.

Stratford Music Festival.

As you will be aware the children sang in the Choral competition in the Stratford Music Festival. It was a long afternoon but the children sang very well and also got a lot out of listening to other school choirs performing. We were awarded a merit and a certificate which is in the awards cupboard by the school offices, feel free to come and have a look at it.
